Founded in 2018, Nurturing Impactful Action – Nyanza (NIA) is a community-based organization rooted in Siaya County, Nyanza Region of Kenya. Established in response to the growing vulnerabilities facing communities in the region, NIA was built on the belief that lasting change begins from within — driven by the people it serves.
Over the years, NIA has grown into a trusted local organization delivering integrated programs across five core areas: health and nutrition, climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, research and learning, and inclusion and protection. At the heart of every intervention is a commitment to reaching those most often left behind — children, mothers, persons with disabilities, youth, and climate-affected households.
NIA's approach is evidence-based and community-driven, combining grassroots engagement with data-informed programming to ensure every effort creates measurable, lasting impact. Today, NIA continues to expand its reach across Nyanza, guided by a simple but powerful vision: resilient, healthy, and economically empowered communities living with dignity and sustainable well-being.
